Aam Aadmi Party's (AAP) Goa chief, Amit Palekar, and AAP Benaulim MLA Venzy Viegas appeared at the Enforcement Directorate (ED) office in Panaji after being summoned on Thursday.

The summons are in connection with the Delhi Liquor Policy case, with ED also calling in Ramarao Wagh, Datta Prasad Naik, and Bhandari Samaj President Ashok Naik for investigation.

AAP sources have accused the ED of spreading misinformation, asserting that Datta Prasad Naik and Ashok Naik are affiliated with the BJP, not AAP. They claim the ED's actions are politically motivated, labelling it as a tool of the BJP.

The ED's remand application during the arrest of Arvind Kejriwal alleged that AAP was a major beneficiary of proceeds from the Delhi Liquor Scam. The agency claimed that a significant portion of the proceeds was utilised in AAP's election campaign during the 2022 Goa Assembly elections.

In Delhi, the Delhi High Court has issued a notice to the ED following a petition filed by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, challenging his arrest and the remand granted by the trial court. The court emphasised that any release order would effectively grant bail, highlighting the importance of following legal procedures.

Additionally, the Delhi High Court is set to hear a PIL seeking the removal of Arvind Kejriwal from the post of Chief Minister of Delhi. The case pertains to alleged irregularities and money laundering related to the Delhi Excise Policy case of 2022, which was subsequently annulled.

The developments come amidst heightened political tensions, with allegations of political vendetta being levelled by AAP against the ED. The situation underscores the complex interplay between law enforcement, politics, and legal proceedings, raising questions about the impartiality of investigations and the protection of democratic principles.
