In a significant administrative reshuffle at the highest level effected in J&K, IAS Officer Rajesh Prasad , posted in Jammu and Kashmir has been appointed as Chief Secretary/Adviser in Chandigarh Union Territory. At present, Prasad , is posted as Principal Secretary PDD in Jammu and Kashmir .
This came as a key posting in the decision taken by the the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), Government of India, which has ordered major postings of IAS officers belonging to the AGMUT cadre with immediate effect. According to the order issued from Kartavya Bhavan, New Delhi, H. Rajesh Prasad, IAS (AGMUT:1995), who was serving in Jammu and Kashmir, has been transferred and posted as Chief Secretary, Chandigarh.
Similarly, Ankur Garg, IAS (AGMUT:2003), presently serving in Arunachal Pradesh, has been posted as Advisor to the Administrator, Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu (DNH&DD).The transfer orders were issued with the approval of the competent authority and will come into force with immediate effect.
The order, signed by Anish Muraleedharan, Director (S), Ministry of Home Affairs, has also been circulated to all Chief Secretaries of the Union Territories and states under the AGMUT cadre for necessary compliance.
Senior IAS officer Shallendra Kumar , who is a popular name in the administrative corridors of J&K has been assigned the additional charge of Administrative Secretary, Power Development Department (PDD), until further orders.An official order issued by the Government states that Kumar, who is already serving in a key administrative position, will now hold the additional responsibility of overseeing the Power Development Department, ensuring smooth functioning and policy implementation during this interim period.
The decision aims to maintain continuity in the department’s operations and expedite ongoing developmental and reform initiatives in the power sector across Jammu and Kashmir. Officials said the arrangement will remain in effect until further orders from the competent authority.
