Agniveer batch 02/24 completes Naval training at INS Chilka

A significant milestone was achieved as 2,966 trainees, including 402 women Agniveers, successfully completed their rigorous 16-week Naval training at INS Chilka, Odisha.

 

The Passing Out Parade (POP), held on March 7, 2025, marked the transition of these trainees into the Indian Navy. The event was unique as it was conducted post-sunset, adding to the grandeur of the occasion.

 

The parade was reviewed by Vice Admiral V Srinivas, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Naval Command. Commodore B Deepak Aneel, Commanding Officer, INS Chilka, conducted the event.

 

 

The ceremony was witnessed by distinguished veterans such as Sureddy Siva Kumar, Ex-SPO, and eminent sports personality Eldhose Paul, alongside the proud families of the newly trained personnel.

 

The successful completion of the training represents a new chapter for these men and women in the Indian Navy, which continues to uphold a gender-neutral and inclusive environment. The Navy's focus remains on developing a combat-ready, credible, cohesive, and future-ready force.

 

Vice Admiral Srinivas congratulated the trainees for their dedication, discipline, and hard work. He encouraged them to enhance their skills and stay technologically aware while upholding the Navy’s core values of Duty, Honour, and Courage.

 

 

He also expressed gratitude to the parents of Agniveers for their support and contribution to the nation.

 

The Chief Guest awarded medals and trophies to outstanding trainees. Devraj Singh Rathore and Pramodh Singh received the Chief of the Naval Staff Rolling Trophy and Gold Medal for Best Agniveer MR and SSR, respectively.

 

 

Mansa Gulivindhala was awarded the Gen Bipin Rawat Rolling Trophy for Best Woman Agniveer in the overall order of merit. Mohit Kumar received the Director General, Indian Coast Guard Rolling Trophy and Gold Medal for Best NVK (GD).

 

During the Valedictory function, Vice Admiral Srinivas presented the Championship Trophy to Angre Division and the Runners-Up Trophy to Eklavya Division. He also unveiled the 02/24 edition of Ankur, the bilingual trainees' magazine of INS Chilka.
