Air India crash: Parliamentary panel flagged ‘discrepancy’ in aviation funding months before Ahmedabad tragedy.

It is anticipated that the preliminary investigation report into the tragic crash of Air India Flight 171, which killed at least 270 people, including 241 passengers and crew members, will be made public by July 11. The report, which is expected to be four to five pages long, will offer crucial preliminary information about the possible causes of the fatal accident.

Sources claim that the report will contain operational and technical information about the aircraft, which is a Boeing Dreamliner 787-8. Additionally, it will include details about the flight crew, the weather on June 12, and the circumstances at Ahmedabad airport when the crash occurred. About 30 seconds after takeoff, the plane crashed.

The preliminary report will analyse flight conditions and document findings regarding the aircraft wreckage. It will list the lead investigator in charge of the investigation and provide an update on the investigation's current status. It is also anticipated that the document will specify the next steps in the investigation and point out areas that need more attention.

The report is being filed within the 30-day window that the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) has set for such incidents in compliance with international protocols. Last month, Minister of State for Civil Aviation Murlidhar Mohol told NDTV that the investigating agencies are looking into every possibility, including sabotage.

It was a regrettable event. A thorough investigation into the incident has been started by the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB). Every possibility, including the potential for sabotage, is being examined. "Multiple agencies are coordinating and reviewing CCTV footage," Mohol said.

"It is extremely uncommon for both engines to shut down simultaneously," he added, highlighting the crash's peculiarity. We will be able to ascertain whether the problem was caused by the engines, the fuel supply, or some other factor that contributed to the failure of both engines once the complete investigation report is available. The minister also affirmed that the conversation between the two pilots during the last moments of the flight is captured on the cockpit voice recorder (CVR), which is a component of the aircraft's black box. "It is too soon to make any judgements, but the investigation will reveal the cause," he stated.
