Secretary (Defence Production) Sanjeev Kumar, addressing the Delhi Defence Dialogue (DDD) 2025 at MP-IDSA, emphasised that AI, Quantum Computing, Robotics, Space Tech & Unmanned Systems are the future and would shape the next-gen defence capabilities.
“Highlighting initiatives like iDEX & TDF, he urged deeper collaboration with startups & innovators to strengthen India’s technological backbone and accelerate Atmanirbharta in Defence,” the Ministry of Defence cited.
“He emphasised the importance of working with young entrepreneurs & innovators to achieve advancements in new areas and strengthen the technological backbone of defence systems. The Secretary (Defence Production) noted that the most modern capabilities are now driven by disruptive technologies such as Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, quantum computing etc. Therefore, he said, seamless exchange of ideas and information between stakeholders is essential for accelerating innovation and developing deployable solutions,” a press release statement noted.
The Defence Dialogue was inaugurated by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on the theme “Harnessing New Age Technology for Defence Capability Development”.
Chief of Army Staff (Army Chief), General Upendra Dwivedi, Defence Research and Development Organisation Chief Samir V Kamat and other defence officials also shared their viewpoints discussing how emerging technologies such as AI, Quantum Computing, Robotics, and Unmanned Systems can enhance defence preparedness and foster an innovation-driven ecosystem.
