A biker has been arrested in Bengaluru for assaulting an Indian Air Force couple, Wing Commander Aditya Bose and Squadron Leader Madhumita, according to recent reports. The attack occurred on April 18, near CV Raman Nagar, as the couple was on their way to the airport.
Wing Commander Bose shared the details of the incident on Instagram, revealing that while driving from DRDO Colony, a biker stopped their car and began abusing him in Kannada.
When the biker noticed the DRDO sticker on their vehicle, he made derogatory comments about the couple. When Bose got out to confront the man, the biker struck him with a key on his forehead, causing bleeding.
Bose explained in his post, "A bike came from behind and stopped our car. The guy started abusing me in Kannada. When he saw the DRDO sticker, he insulted both my wife and me. When I got out, he hit me with a key, and I started bleeding."
Things escalated further when others gathered, and one of them picked up a stone, smashing the car window and hitting Bose on the head. Bose expressed his shock and disappointment over the attack, highlighting the poor treatment of armed forces personnel. His wife managed to drive him to the nearest police station, where they filed a complaint.
In a follow-up video, Bose provided more details, mentioning that the attack took place early in the morning when his wife was dropping him off for a flight to Kolkata. The attacker approached their car, broke the window with a stone, and hit Bose with it.
Bose said he pushed the attacker in self-defense, and during the struggle, the assailant even bit his finger. He also lost his phone and keys during the incident but emphasized that his primary concern was his family's safety.
The Bengaluru police launched an investigation into the incident, and based on the complaint filed by Bose’s wife, they arrested the attacker. The Indian Air Force has expressed support for the officer and is working with the authorities to ensure a lawful resolution.
The case has raised concerns about public safety and the treatment of uniformed personnel, sparking debate online and highlighting the importance of protecting those who serve the country.
