Air India flight AI2017, which was supposed to leave Delhi for London on Thursday, was forced to abort its takeoff, causing a major delay. The crew discovered a 'suspected technical issue' during the takeoff run and, in accordance with standard operating procedures, returned the aircraft to the parking bay for preventative inspections, the airline said in an official statement.
The flight was being operated with a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft. An Air India spokesperson confirmed the incident, stating, "Flight AI2017 operating from Delhi to London on 31 July returned to bay due to a suspected technical issue. The cockpit crew decided to discontinue the take-off run following standard operating procedures and brought the aircraft back for precautionary checks."
Air India is actively using a different aircraft to get passengers to their destination as soon as possible in order to minimise any inconvenience. To ensure the impacted passengers' well-being during the unplanned delay, the airline's ground crew has been called upon to offer them complete support and care.
The airline's dedication to passenger safety as its top priority was reiterated in the statement's conclusion. The airline showed that it was focused on minimising the impact of the delay by moving quickly to deploy a replacement aircraft and help passengers, even though the specifics of the technical problem were not made clear.
