Calling for complete dismantling of terror eco system in J&K, Union Home Minister Amit Shah has said that counter-terror operations targeting terrorist infrastructure and terror financing must continue in a mission mode.
Chairing a high-level security review meeting on Jammu and Kashmir, Shah asserted that all the resources will be made available to achieve the goal of a terror-free J&K at the earliest.The review meeting focused on eliminating terrorists operating in the higher reaches of Jammu and Kashmir, while ensuring zero infiltration along the Line of Control (LoC) and the International Border.He also praised security forces for consistently launching counter terror operations across UT.
Shah directed all security agencies to remain alert and continue to work in synergy to ensure that the gains achieved after the abrogation of Article 370 are sustained. During the meeting, Shah stressed the need to destroy the support systems of terrorism, calling for coordinated action against terrorists, their overground workers, sympathisers, and drug smuggling networks, which serve as financial sources for sustaining terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir, officials said.
The Home Minister also praised the role of security forces and emphasised the importance of complete synergy among the Jammu and Kashmir Police, the Army and the Central Armed Police Forces deployed in anti-terror operations. After the meeting held on Thursday, Shah said in a post on X, “Chaired a security review meeting for Jammu and Kashmir along with Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha Ji.”
He added that he appreciated the security agencies for crippling the terror ecosystem in Jammu and Kashmir while working towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of lasting peace in the region.“Reaffirmed that counterterror operations aimed at demolishing terrorist infrastructure and terror financing will continue in mission mode,” Shah said.The meeting was attended by J&K Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan, IB Director Tapan Kumar Deka, and the chief secretary and DGP of the Union Territory.
