Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday held a ‘Sahkar Samvaad’ with women from Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and other cooperative workers engaged in the cooperative sector.

Shah, a senior BJP leader, interacted with women associated with cooperative initiatives across the states.

The Office of Amit Shah, in a post on X in Hindi, shared that Miral Ben Rabari from Gujarat informed the minister about how farmers selling camel milk were gaining profits through cooperatives and how its medicinal properties were benefiting people.

Ahead of the interaction, the Home Minister’s office had posted in Hindi that the Ministry of Cooperation is strengthening the national economy, as well as the rural economy, by empowering farmers in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of "Prosperity through Cooperation."

The post further said that, under the Modi government, the cooperative sector has become a strong tool for enabling women’s self-reliance.

Earlier in the day, on the occasion of the fourth foundation day of the Ministry of Cooperation, a grand Sahkar Samelan was organised in Anand – known as the Milk Capital of India – in the presence of Amit Shah and Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel.

During the event, Shah inaugurated several development works at the globally renowned Amul Dairy.

He also called for expanding the cooperative movement across the country on the basis of the five Ps – People, PACS, Platform, Policy, and Prosperity – according to a release from the Gujarat Chief Minister’s Office.

The Home Minister said that the convergence of three key milestones – the fourth anniversary of the Ministry of Cooperation, the 60th anniversary of the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB), and the 150th birth anniversary year of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel – had led to several new initiatives being launched in Anand through the cooperative conference.

Highlighting the Ministry’s achievements over the past four years, Shah said it had been working on the foundation of the five Ps: People (service-oriented approach), PACS (strengthening of Primary Agricultural Credit Societies), Platform (creation of digital infrastructure), Policy (formulation of new guidelines), and Prosperity (ensuring social upliftment).
