Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday opened a newly constructed Cooperative Complex established by the Adroda Mandali Cooperative Limited in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.

The opening is another development project in Shah's Lok Sabha constituency. One day prior, Shah also dropped by at the Information and Library Network Centre (INFLIBNET) in Gandhinagar, where he held a review meeting with a focus on the modernisation and development of libraries in the country.

Talking about the significance of libraries, Shah tweeted on the social media site X, "The library is a first point of contact for education, culture, and history." He furthered that the INFLIBNET is working towards revolutionising libraries by integrating the latest technologies, which is turning them into support centres for inquisitive children interested in research and development.

On the visit, Shah also inaugurated the mobile application of the 'Sastu Sahitya Vardhak Karyalaya', describing it as being very useful for book enthusiasts in gaining easy access to their favourite books. He also planted a sapling on the INFLIBNET campus, which reflected his dedication to environmental awareness.

In Ahmedabad, Shah participated in the Jagannath Rath Yatra celebrations. He went to the over 400-year-old Shri Jagannath Temple early on Saturday morning and performed "Mangla Aarti" at 4 a.m.

Writing on the experience on X, Shah said the experience was "divine and extraordinary."
He wrote, "It is in itself a divine and extraordinary experience to attend the Mangla Aarti on the sacred day of Rath Yatra at Shri Jagannath Temple, Ahmedabad. I attended Mahaprabhu's Mangla Aarti today and offered my prayers. May Mahaprabhu continue to bless everyone with His blessings."

He also extended greetings to the nation, calling the Jagannath Rath Yatra a “unique confluence of faith and devotion.” “Hail Jagannath! Heartfelt greetings to all on the sacred festival of Shri Jagannath Rath Yatra. The Rath Yatra of Shri Jagannath Ji is a unique confluence of faith and devotion, which teaches us that moving forward while cherishing devotion, culture, and heritage is at the core of our being,” Shah posted.
