Former President Kovind's autobiography released

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday urged young people to read autobiographies and learn from the struggles of others, saying that in the "era of reels", they should remember that "shortcut will cut you short".

 

Speaking at the launch of former president Ram Nath Kovind's autobiography "Triumph of the Indian Republic: My Life, My Struggles", Modi said Kovind's life showed how determination could help a person overcome adversity and rise to the highest constitutional office.

 

He also highlighted Kovind's continuing public engagement after his presidency, saying he had not rested after demitting office and was working on the "One Nation, One Election" initiative, which, he said, could "open a new chapter in Indian democracy".

 

Modi said the former president's efforts on the issue were part of his continued contribution to strengthening Indian democracy.He urged youth to read the autobiography of anyone they admire and avoid shortcuts in life in the age of Reels and social media influencers. He also stressed the continuous need for dedicated youth to carry the mission of Viksit Bharat forward.PM  Modi called for a generation that remains undeterred by obstacles and maintains the courage to forge paths toward national self-reliance.

 

The autobiography offers a deeply personal account of Kovind’s remarkable life journey, tracing his experiences, struggles and achievements from his early years to his distinguished public life and eventual service as the 14th President of India. The book provides insights into the values, experiences and circumstances that shaped his journey and public service.

 

Modi said that Ram Nath Kovind’s guidance as the President has been a great source of strength for him. He said that ex President Kovind’s autobiography will not only provide insights into his life, personality, and contributions but also serve as a legacy for Indian democracy and society. Prime Minister Modi said that even after retiring from the country’s highest constitutional office, Ram Nath Kovind has remained actively engaged and continues to work on important issues such as One Nation, One Election.

 

Prime Minister Modi urged the younger generation to learn about Ram Nath Kovind’s life journey in his own words and read about his writings and experiences. He said great personalities such as Mahatma Gandhi, Babasaheb Ambedkar, Jyotiba Phule and Savitribai Phule dreamed of rebuilding India, an India where even the poorest and most deprived would have the opportunity to reach the highest positions.

 

On the occasion, Ram Nath Kovind said that politics is not merely a means of acquiring power, but an instrument of serving the nation. He said, education opens the doors to countless possibilities and provides new directions and innumerable opportunities in life. Kovind said that today, under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, crores of people have been provided with a roof over their heads.
