As the date for the important Delhi assembly elections gets closer, Delhi Chief Minister Atishi filed her nomination papers from the Kalkaji constituency on Tuesday. She had initially been unable to file them on Monday due to a delay caused by her roadshow.
Reflecting on her work in the constituency, Atishi said, "I have worked tirelessly for the last five years. The people of Kalkaji are like family to me. They see me as their daughter and sister. I am not just a representative; I am a part of their lives."
The Delhi assembly election is set for February 5, with vote counting scheduled for February 8.
Atishi vs Ramesh Singh Bidhuri
Atishi will face strong competition from BJP's Ramesh Singh Bidhuri, a seasoned politician and her main opponent. Bidhuri, a former MP from South Delhi and a three-time MLA from Tughlakabad, has a strong political record, having won elections in 2003, 2008, and 2013.
The Congress party has also fielded Alka Lamba, the National President of Mahila Congress, as a candidate. Lamba, who was with Congress from 1994 to 2014, briefly joined the AAP before returning to her original party for this election.

Who is Atishi Singh?
Atishi Singh has been a prominent member of the AAP government, especially after former Deputy CM Manish Sisodia was jailed in an excise policy case.
