Banned extremist org calls for boycott of J'khand polls

Banned militant organisation People’s Liberation Front of India (PLFI) an offshoot of the CPI (Mosist), has put up posters in Bero area of Ranchi district and Khunti district appealing people to boycott Assembly elections in Jharkhand.

Banned extremist organisation puts up posters to boycott polls in Jharkhand.


Banned militant organisation People’s Liberation Front of India (PLFI) an offshoot of the CPI (Mosist), has put up posters in Bero area of Ranchi district and Khunti district appealing people to boycott Assembly elections in Jharkhand.

 

Red banners and posters have been put up at some places on Ranchi-Gumla Road in Bero police station area. A poster has been put up near UCO Bank in Bero threatening people to boycott elections.

 

On getting information about the posters, a police team reached the spot and started an investigation after removing the posters.

 

The poster put up by the central committee of PLFI says that the government is not doing any kind of work for the people, so destroy the rule of the police administration. Boycott the assembly elections to be held in Jharkhand.

 

It was also written in the poster that all the farmers, labourers, tribal natives, students, young women of Jharkhand are calling for boycott of elections to protect water, forest and land.

 

The PLFI has asked people to boycott elections to make local policy for jobs in Jharkhand and protect the CNT and SPT acts made for protecting tribal land.

 

Police officials said that is being investigated whether the posters have been put up by the organisation or by some mischievous elements. CCTV footage installed around the bank is also being scrutinised.

 

Apart from Ranchi, PLFI has put up posters in Khunti district by pasting posters in the city. Posters have been put up in front of the Jain temple located on Karra Road, a few steps away from Khunti police station.

 

Police officials said that CCTV cameras installed in the city have captured the pictures of some suspects and people need not panic with the incident. They said that police will soon arrest the people behind the incident.
