BJP accuses Rahul Gandhi as Congress files counter complaint.

Parliament scuffle intensifies as BJP and Congress lodge rival complaints In Parliament, each party has lodged a complaint against the other as the scuffle escalates.

The BJP and Congress have always had their disagreements, but things escalated on Thursday when both went to the police to report a fight in which one party accused the other of assault and unruly behaviour outside the parliament.

Union Minister Anurag Thakur coordinated with other BJP members of parliament to make a complaint against Rahul Gandhi who in return was also accused by Congress MPs of conspiracy and misconduct by BJP members of parliament.

According to sources it occurred outside the Makar Dwar of the Parliamentary campus during a protest by the NDA. Both are now pivoting and leveling accusations against each other about demeaning the parliamentary standards and decency.

BJP’s Accusations of Rahul Gandhi

They met Delhi Police complaining that Rahul Gandhi attacked them and BJP MP Pratap Chandra Sarangi during the protest. The BJP said that the scuffle took place with the 69 years old Sarangi and another MP Mukesh Rajput having to be hospitalized.

The party said that both the MPs had head injuries and they were moved to Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital for Intensive Care Unit treatment.

Thakur expanded on the statements and said that the complaint was lodged with the help of sections of the law, for instance, incitement charges and grievous harm.

Addressing media outside the Parliament Street Police Station, he recited Sections 109, 115, 117, 125, 131, and 351 of the BNS. He pointed out that Section 109 relates to an attempt to murder, and Section 117 has to do with voluntarily causing grievous hurt.

Gandhi's assault on parliamentary traditions was a fallout of his agitations against senior MPs which, according to the BJP, was a "peaceful protest".

Congress’ Counter Complaint

The repair action is taken by Congress MPs and some senior and women parliamentarians on their own filing a complaint at the Parliament Street Police Station.

Describing the incident as a pre-planned hiccup, Congress MP Pramod Tiwari said the BJP members orchestrated the commotion to target opposition leaders.

'Physically pushed': In his letter to Chairman Of The Lok Sabha, these were some of the offenses clamored for punishment from Leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha, Mallikarjun Kharge, wherein he stated that the BJP MPs pushed him physically causing him to lose balance and injure his knees.

In this manner, Kharge goes on ahead with his accusations by making charges against BJP members for lowering the dignity of Parliament by saying, "They carried placards mounted on thick sticks and were engaged in pushing and shoving so as to disrupt peaceful protests made by opposition MPs."

The Congress delegation also pointed to what they called the BJP's continued insult of icons of Indian democracy." After insulting Dr Ambedkar ji, the BJP has now begun to demean the dignity of Parliament.

Their actions show how much they despise Babasaheb, the Constitution, and democracy itself." Kharge further added regarding this theme.

Demands for an Investigation

The Congress has formally registered its concern with Speaker Om Birla by writing to him demanding an inquiry into the incident. Concerned Congress MPs expressed their deepest concerns over what they deemed the "physical manhandling" of Rahul Gandhi in this letter.

It also charged the entire incident as a breach against privileges granted to the Leader of Opposition and other parliamentarians.

The ratcheting up of tensions between the rival parties promises to overshadow parliamentary business as they accuse each other of misconduct.
