The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) launched a sharp attack on the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) on Sunday, condemning the alleged abuse of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his mother, Heeraben Modi, during a recent political rally. Amit Malviya, BJP leader, described the RJD as a “synonym for dirty thinking.”
Posting on X, Malviya referred to a video purportedly showing a man verbally abusing the Prime Minister and his mother at a rally addressed by Tejashwi Yadav. “In the land of Sita Maiya, Bihar, the late mother of the Prime Minister is being repeatedly insulted. Leaders of the Congress and RJD are promoting this audacity from the party’s official platform. This happened again yesterday, when unruly RJD workers used vulgar language for the Prime Minister’s mother in front of Tejashwi Yadav, and Lalu’s son remained silent," Malviya wrote in Hindi.
He added, “After all, what will be gained by abusing the Prime Minister’s mother? Sinking to this level in politics is shameful. RJD is synonymous with dirty thinking. As long as this party exists in Bihar, Bihar will continue to be shamed.”

The controversy echoes a similar incident in August, when a man was arrested in Darbhanga for allegedly making objectionable remarks against the Prime Minister and his mother at a Congress-RJD event. BJP leaders have repeatedly demanded accountability from Opposition parties over such incidents.
Responding to the allegations, Dr Mukesh Roushan, RJD MLA from Mahua, claimed that no party worker had used abusive language against PM Modi. “No RJD worker or anyone else used any abusive word for the Prime Minister. In the video that the BJP has shared, Tejashwi Yadav can’t be heard speaking. They have doctored the video to defame (RJD) as part of a conspiracy," Roushan posted on social media.
Tej Pratap Yadav also reacted to the row, demanding legal action against those responsible. “An FIR should be registered against those who have accused a mother and pointed fingers at her; they should be jailed. I also demand of the Centre and State that those who have insulted a mother should be sent to jail at the earliest… The manner in which the local MLA spoke, I demand from Bihar Govt and Centre that he be jailed. If he is not sent to jail, I will agitate," he said.
