BJP expels 30 rebel leaders from party for 6 years in Jharkhand.

Taking a stern step against voices of dissent within the party, the State BJP unit in Jharkhand today expelled 30 leaders from the party for six years.

An official press communique issued by the State BJP stated that the step was taken by party General Secretary and MP Dr. Pradeep Verma on the instructions of State President Babulal Marandi.

It was said that the 30 such rebel BJP leaders were expelled from the party for 6 years, who were contesting against BJP candidates in the Assembly elections by filing nominations against authorised candidates against the party's policies.

The list includes Chandrama Kumari from Palamu, Kumkum Devi Hazaribagh, Laxmi Devi Palamu, Julie Yadav Dumka, Balwant Singh Latehar, Arvind Singh Kharsawan, Bateshwar Mehta Hazaribagh, Bhaiyya Banke Bihari Hazaribagh, Chittaranjan Saw Bokaro, Colonel Sanjay Singh Palamu, Harsh Ajmera Hazaribagh, Hazari Prasad Sahu Ranchi Rural, Misir Kujur Gumla and others.

Notably, after being denied tickets to contest the assembly elections a large number of BJP leaders have filed nomination as independent candidates or have joined smaller parties in Jharkhand.

As a damage control exercise, senior leadership of the party tried to pacify the leaders by meeting them and convincing them of the ground situation. Though a number of leaders took back their nomination, many leaders continued with their pursuit of contesting elections.

The BJP, by expelling the leaders, has tried to send a strong message among party cadres to fall in line. It's the world's largest party and it cannot tolerate indiscipline, said a senior leader of the party.
