BJP targets auto drivers with new campaign for Delhi polls.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has launched an auto campaign in Delhi ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections in 2025. The move is a key part of the BJP's efforts to strengthen its position in the national capital and attract support from a wide cross-section of people.

The auto campaign aims to connect with auto drivers and their communities, who are an integral part of Delhi's urban landscape.

The initiative is being rolled out with the involvement of more than 58 auto unions and organisations in Delhi. Representatives from these groups will visit the BJP's state office daily to participate in the campaign.

Each phase of the campaign will be launched by senior leaders, including Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva. The next significant phase of this campaign is set to begin on December 5, with auto drivers formally pledging their support to the BJP.

Thousands of auto drivers, under the leadership of Sachdeva, are expected to participate in the mobilisation efforts as the Delhi Assembly Elections near.

BJP Member of Parliament (MP) Harsh Malhotra spoke to the media, stating that auto drivers in Delhi have shown immense support for the BJP.

He mentioned that during a recent public meeting, more than a thousand auto drivers gathered at the Delhi BJP office to express their grievances and dissatisfaction with the promises made by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.

The auto drivers, according to Malhotra, have been facing unfulfilled promises from Kejriwal's government and are now seeking change. Many of them have written slogans on the backs of their autos, such as “Badlenge Delhi ka halat Milkar BJP ke sath,” signifying their shift in allegiance towards the BJP.

Malhotra added that in the previous elections, many auto drivers supported Kejriwal, believing in his promises, but have since been disappointed by the lack of action from his government.

Now, with the upcoming elections in mind, thousands of auto drivers are aligning themselves with the BJP, hoping for a change in leadership. He further stated that the BJP intends to incorporate several demands from auto drivers into its election manifesto for 2025.

Auto drivers will be offered various benefits as part of the BJP's electoral platform, and the party is committed to fulfilling these promises if they come to power.

The auto campaign, which commenced with a public meeting on Sunday, is expected to continue until the elections, serving as a significant tool to engage with voters and highlight the failures of the current government.

Through this initiative, the BJP hopes to garner substantial support from the auto driver community, presenting itself as the party that will bring about the change they desire.
