BJP MP Hema Malini paid obeisance and offered prayers at the Dwarkadhish Temple in Uttar Pradesh’s Mathura on Sunday, marking the auspicious occasion of Ram Navami.
Reflecting on the day’s significance, she expressed her delight, stating, “Today, on the occasion of Ram Navami, I am here at the Dwarkadhish Temple. It is also the foundation day of my party, the BJP. Fortunately, many auspicious events have coincided with this day.”
Speaking from Mathura, Hema Malini addressed the persistent concern surrounding the cleanliness of the River Yamuna. “Everyone asks the same question—when will the Yamuna be cleaned? And we now have an answer, as our Prime Minister himself has assured that the river will be cleaned soon,” she said, underlining the government’s commitment to environmental reforms in the region.
The BJP MP also mentioned several ongoing development projects, noting that, at her request, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari had pledged to construct a Vrindavan bypass, which is expected to ease local traffic and benefit residents.
In the national capital, Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri also marked the day by offering prayers at the Ram Temple on Lodhi Road.
Meanwhile, Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, along with his family, performed ‘Kanya Pujan’ on the occasion of Ram Navami, the ninth day of Chaitra Navratri.
“There is a tradition of Kanya Pujan on Navami; daughters are manifestations of the goddess. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, we are all working towards establishing Ram Rajya,” he stated.
Earlier in the day, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also performed ‘Kanya Pujan’ at the Gorakhnath Temple.
Following the ritual, CM Yogi extended his Ram Navami greetings and emphasised the importance of 'Maatri Shakti' (divine feminine power) in Indian culture. He also took a stand against gender-based discrimination, asserting that it is everyone’s responsibility to treat boys and girls equally.
