The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday released a list of 40 star campaigners for the upcoming Bihar assembly elections, featuring prominent leaders including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and BJP National President JP Nadda.
The list also includes Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari, Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, and Textile Minister Giriraj Singh.
BJP’s roster of 40 star campaigners for the Bihar elections comprises a mix of senior leaders, chief ministers, and celebrities. Five BJP Chief Ministers are on the list: Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath, Assam CM Hemanta Biswa Sarma, Delhi CM Rekha Gupta, Madhya Pradesh CM Mohan Yadav, and Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis.
The list also brings back political figures who have been away from the limelight or have not received tickets for the elections.
Former Union cabinet minister Smriti Irani is the most prominent among them. Other former central ministers included are Ravi Shankar Prasad, Radha Mohan Singh, Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti, and Ashwini Kumar Choubey.
Bihar Deputy Chief Ministers Samrat Chaudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha, former deputy CM Renu Devi, and several other state ministers are also part of the list.
Other names include Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya, Union Water Minister CR Patil, Dr. Dilip Kumar Jaiswal, Prem Kumar, Nityanand Rai, Satish Chandra Dubey, Raj Bhushan Choudhary, Rajiv Pratap Rudy, Dr. Sanjay Jaiswal, Vinod Tawde, Babulal Marandi, Pradeep Kumar Singh, Gopaljee Thakur, and Janak Ram.
The list also features prominent figures from Bhojpuri cinema, including actor-singer-turned-politician Pawan Singh, Manoj Tiwari, Ravi Kishan, and Dinesh Lal Yadav “Nirahua.”

The last date for nomination for the first phase of the Bihar assembly elections is October 17. Polling will take place on November 6.
Earlier on Wednesday, the BJP released its third list of 18 candidates for the Bihar assembly polls.
Meanwhile, the Janata Dal (United) released its second list of 44 candidates on Thursday, bringing its total to 101, matching the BJP. Other NDA allies, including Rashtriya Lok Morcha and Hindustani Awam Morcha, have announced six candidates each, while the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), led by Chirag Paswan, has yet to field candidates on several seats.
The National Democratic Alliance is set to kickstart its campaigning for the Bihar elections, while the Mahagathbandhan has yet to finalise its seat-sharing formula.
Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader and Leader of Opposition in the Bihar Legislative Assembly, Tejashwi Yadav, filed his nomination from the Raghopur assembly constituency on Wednesday ahead of the polls.
The second phase of Bihar elections will take place on November 11, with results to be announced on November 14.
