BJP Assigns In Charges For State Level Membership Drive.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is set to launch a significant membership drive on September 1, ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections in four states.

The drive, which aims to enrol over 10 crore members, will involve all existing members renewing their membership through a missed call, including top leaders like Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

The decision to initiate this membership drive was finalised during a four-hour meeting held in Delhi, led by Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP National President JP Nadda. The meeting, which was attended by key party leaders, focused on the strategies and steps required to carry out the campaign effectively.

According to sources, Prime Minister Modi is expected to play a crucial role in kickstarting the membership drive by renewing his membership through the missed call facility. The number designated for this process is 8800002024, and multiple in-charges have been appointed to oversee the drive in different states.

Senior BJP leader Vinod Tawde has been tasked with leading the membership campaign in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Goa, Daman Diu, and Dadra Nagar Haveli.

Meanwhile, National General Secretary Dushyant Gautam will be responsible for overseeing the drive in West Bengal, Sikkim, Tripura, and Odisha. Rekha Verma, the National Vice President of the BJP, will handle the campaign in Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Ladakh, and Chandigarh.

Other notable appointments include D Purandeshwari for Kerala, Puducherry, and Tamil Nadu, and Arvind Menon for Andaman and Nicobar, Andhra Pradesh, Lakshadweep, and Telangana.

Rajdeep Roy will manage the campaign in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, and Nagaland, while Vijaya Rahatkar will lead efforts in Chhattisgarh and Karnataka.

In addition, Rituraj Sinha has been assigned the responsibility for Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat, with Ghaziabad MP Atul Garg overseeing the campaign in Uttarakhand and Bihar.

The meeting, chaired by JP Nadda and attended by various national office bearers, state in-charges, and organisation general secretaries, covered all essential aspects of the membership drive, including its start date and overall process.

The agenda also included discussions on organisational elections, which are expected to take place from the Mandal to district and state levels after the membership drive.

The organisational elections will ultimately lead to the selection of a new national president for the BJP, likely in January 2025. Until then, JP Nadda will continue to serve as the national president, with his current term having already concluded.
