After a wave of bomb threats targeted more than 80 schools across Delhi-NCR via email on Wednesday morning, investigators are now tracking the source of the threats, suspecting they originated from a server in Russia.

 

Initial findings suggest that a single IP address was used to send the threatening emails to all schools, with the email address itself bearing a Russian domain. However, authorities are still working to confirm whether the emails indeed came from Russia.

 

The Cyber team of the Delhi Police has joined the investigation, focusing on tracking the IP address associated with the email. Despite attempts to conceal the original IP address by using VPN connections, investigators are confident in their ability to trace it.

 

There's also speculation that the Dark Web may have been utilised to send the threat emails, adding complexity to the investigation.

 

To ensure a comprehensive approach, different teams within the Delhi Police, including those from Noida, Ghaziabad, and Delhi, are collaborating on various aspects of the investigation.

 

Despite the alarming situation, the Directorate of Education under the Delhi Government reassured the public that no dangerous devices or suspicious activities were found in any of the affected schools.

 

While investigations continue, the Delhi Police has urged parents and faculty not to panic, emphasising that no credible threats have been identified so far.

 

The Ministry of Home Affairs echoed this sentiment, labelling the emails as 'hoax'. Additionally, the Delhi Lieutenant Governor directed the police to conduct a thorough search of school premises and ensure the safety of students and staff.

 

As the investigation unfolds, Delhi Police's Special Cell is leading the efforts to uncover the culprits behind the bomb threats. Despite the intense scrutiny, authorities have yet to uncover any suspicious elements in the targeted schools.

 

However, they remain vigilant and committed to ensuring the safety and security of educational institutions and the community at large.
