The Border Roads Organisation (BRO) celebrated its 65th Raising Day with fervour and pride. The occasion was marked by an event held in New Delhi, graced by the presence of Defence Secretary Giridhar Aramane.
During the event, Defence Secretary Aramane commended the BRO for its commendable efforts in executing projects amidst challenging terrains and adverse weather conditions. He emphasised the vital role played by the BRO in enhancing national security and fostering socio-economic development in remote border areas.
Acknowledging the BRO's timely completion of projects, Aramane expressed confidence in the organisation's ability to continue its exemplary work. He urged the BRO to embrace modern technology and techniques to expedite project completion, thereby optimising human resources and efficiency. Automation and mechanisation, he emphasised, would be pivotal for the BRO's future endeavours.
Highlighting the BRO's contribution during crises, Aramane praised its personnel for their tireless efforts during events like the Silkyara Tunnel Collapse and the Sikkim Floods. He underscored the BRO's role in the Vibrant Villages Programme, aimed at comprehensive development in border villages.
Director General of Border Roads, Lt Gen Raghu Srinivasan, extended greetings to all BRO personnel, emphasising the organisation's commitment to national security, connectivity, and development.
He highlighted the significance of the BRO's tagline, 'In the Silence of Our Great Mountains – Work Speaks,' which symbolises dedication and perseverance.
Lt Gen Srinivasan urged all ranks to uphold the BRO's mission of 'Connecting Places, Connecting People,' thereby leaving a lasting legacy of progress and unity.
Army Chief General Manoj Pande also conveyed his best wishes to the BRO on its 65th Raising Day, recognizing the organisation's invaluable contribution to national infrastructure and security.
