On Tuesday morning, a C-130J transport aircraft of the Bangladesh Air Force departed from the Hindon Air Force base around 9 AM IST, heading towards Bangladesh. This flight is closely monitored by Indian security agencies.

It is important to clarify that the aircraft, which carried seven military personnel, did not have Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina onboard. She had arrived in India the previous evening after resigning from her position.

As of now, it remains uncertain whether Sheikh Hasina will stay in Delhi or travel to another location. Meanwhile, India's External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar held an all-party meeting in Parliament to update leaders on the situation in Bangladesh. He detailed the developments in Bangladesh, including Sheikh Hasina's relocation to India, and outlined the Indian government’s plans for her future.

Jaishankar emphasised that the Indian government is coordinating with the Bangladesh Army and is prepared to take appropriate measures as the situation evolves.

He assured leaders that there are currently 20,000 Indian nationals in Bangladesh, with 8,000 having already returned. The Indian High Commission in Dhaka remains operational and is in touch with Indian citizens.

During the all-party meeting, Jaishankar also highlighted the government's focus on protecting minorities amid the ongoing unrest. Bangladesh is experiencing significant political instability due to widespread protests, primarily driven by students advocating for changes to the government’s quota system for jobs.
