The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will close the Class 12 re-evaluation application window today, June 7, 2026. Students who are not satisfied with their marks and wish to request a re-check of specific answers can submit their applications through the official CBSE post-result services portal.

In a social media post, the Central Board of Secondary Education said that the portal will remain open until midnight. It asked the students to complete and submit their applications before the deadline. The Board extended the last date for submission of applications for Verification of Marks and Re-evaluation till the 7th of June.

“The students can now submit their applications till sunday midnight”, the post said. CBSE said that the decision has been taken in the interest of students to provide them with additional time to complete the application process. The earlier deadline for submission of applications was 6th of this month.

CBSE has advised all eligible students to take note of the extended deadline and complete the application process within the stipulated time. The re-evaluation facility is available only to those students who have already obtained scanned copies of their evaluated answer sheets. CBSE had opened the re-evaluation portal earlier this week after a brief delay caused by technical updates and security checks. According to CBSE, students should compare their answers with the marking scheme and apply for re-evaluation if they believe there has been an error in the evaluation process.

A total of over 70 thousand applications have been received through the CBSE post-result grievance redressal process from Class 12th students. This includes seven thousand 314 applications for Verification of Marks and over 63 thousand applications for re-evaluation. CBSE had opened the online portal for verification of issues observed in scanned copies of answer books and re-evaluation of answers on Tuesday.

Following the declaration of Class 12th results on 13 May, a section of students expressed dissatisfaction with marks awarded and questioned the accuracy of evaluation under the On-Screen Marking system (OSM). The Ministry of Education initiated a review of the implementation and procurement aspects of the OSM system, including examination of vendor performance, contractual obligations and quality-control mechanisms.

As part of the accountability and confidence-building measures, Chairman CBSE Rahul Singh and Secretary CBSE Himanshu Gupta were transferred, and Prashant Lokhande was appointed as the new Chairman of CBSE. On the 2nd of this month, the Government had ordered an independent inquiry under S. Radha Chauhan, Chairperson, Capacity Building Commission, to examine procurement and implementation-related aspects of the OSM project.
