Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar will undertake a three-day visit to Jharkhand from Friday, a senior official said.
After arriving in Ranchi this evening, the CEC will meet Chief Secretary Alka Tiwari and Director General of Police (DGP) Anurag Gupta.
The CEC will meet volunteers and booth-level officers (BLOs) to gain insights into their experiences with the successful conduct of the Lok Sabha and assembly elections in Jharkhand last year.
K Ravi Kumar, Jharkhand Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), added that the CEC, on Saturday, would interact with 55 volunteers in Ramgarh who took part in the Lok Sabha and assembly poll.
"These volunteers played crucial roles in the elections held last year," he said.
Jharkhand Chief Electoral Officer further stated that the CEC would meet with booth-level officers (BLOs) in Ranchi on Sunday to know about their work in challenging and remote locations.
Kumar added that he would also learn about the booth-level officers’ experiences with household surveys, the BLO app, managing polling time, and other relevant issues during the poll time.
The Lok Sabha poll were held in seven phases, from April 19 to June 1 last year. In Jharkhand, the general elections were held in four phases, starting May 13. The votes were counted on June 4.
The assembly polls in Jharkhand took place in two phases, on November 13 and November 20 last year, while the counting was done on November 23.
