All central government offices nationwide are set to observe a half-day closure on January 22 marking the upcoming Ram temple consecration ceremony in Ayodhya, as per a directive from the Personnel Ministry on Thursday.
The 'Pran Pratishtha' ceremony for the new idol of Ram Lalla, scheduled for Monday at the Ram Mandir's sanctum sanctorum, will be officiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The celebration of Ram Lalla Pran Pratishtha on January 22, 2024, will resonate across India, prompting the decision to close central government offices, institutions, and industrial establishments until 1430 hours on the said day.
The directive, issued to all central government ministries and departments, aims to enable employees to actively participate in the joyous celebrations.
Union Minister of State for Personnel, Jitendra Singh, shared that the decision is a response to the "overwhelming" public sentiments nationwide. Citing a substantial public demand, he emphasized the significance of acknowledging and respecting these sentiments, leading to the resolution for a half-day closure of central government offices on January 22.
