The Central Government has officially notified the appointment of several Additional Judges as permanent judges in the Allahabad High Court and the Andhra Pradesh High Court. This significant decision, issued through the Ministry of Law and Justice on Wednesday, marks a critical step in strengthening the judiciary in these regions.
In the notification, the government highlighted that the appointments were made under the authority granted by the Constitution of India. The President of India, following consultations with the Chief Justice of India, approved the transition of these Additional Judges to Permanent Judges. This move ensures the judges' continued service and contributions to their respective high courts.
Nine Additional Judges from the Allahabad High Court have been elevated to permanent positions. These judges include Justice Syed Qamar Hasan Rizvi, Justice Manish Kumar Nigam, Justice Anish Kumar Gupta, Justice Nand Prabha Shukla, Justice Kshitij Shailendra, Justice Vinod Diwakar, Justice Prashant Kumar, Justice Manjive Shukla, and Justice Arun Kumar Singh Deshwal.
Their new status as permanent judges solidifies their roles within the judiciary, allowing them to take on more responsibilities and make long-term contributions to the court.
In the Andhra Pradesh High Court, the notification announced the appointment of Justice Venkata Jyothirmai Pratapa as a permanent judge. Additionally, Justice Venuthurumalli Gopala Krishna Rao, who has been serving as an Additional Judge, has also been appointed as a permanent judge.
Their appointments reflect the government's commitment to ensuring that the judiciary in Andhra Pradesh continues to function effectively and efficiently.
The decision to appoint these judges as permanent members of the judiciary is a critical development for both high courts. Permanent judges play a crucial role in maintaining the continuity and stability of the legal system, as they are responsible for hearing cases, making judgments, and upholding the law. Their permanent status provides them with the authority to make significant legal decisions that can impact the lives of countless individuals.
These appointments come at a time when the judiciary in India is facing increased pressure to handle a growing number of cases. The elevation of Additional Judges to permanent positions is expected to enhance the capacity of the courts to manage their caseloads more effectively.
It also signals the government's recognition of the importance of a robust and well-supported judiciary in maintaining the rule of law and delivering justice to the people.
