Union Health Minister J P Nadda said on Saturday that the two-week long women’s health-oriented ‘Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar’ campaign has already benefited nearly 6.5 crore women across the country, who got themselves screened at more than 18 lakh health camps.
Terming it a “historic milestone”, the BJP National President said the campaign, which concluded on October 2, reflected the nation’s collective resolve to prioritise women’s health to ensure they can build stronger families and thriving communities.
In a post on X, Nadda wrote: “Launched on September 17 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the two-week-long #SwasthNariSashaktParivar Abhiyaan concluded on 2nd October after achieving historic milestones of screening 6 crore 50 lakh women, through nearly 18 lakh health camps organised across the country.”
“This extraordinary achievement reflects the nation’s collective resolve to place women’s health at the heart of strong families and thriving COMMUNITIES,” he further wrote.
The Union Health Ministry shared data on Friday that revealed the health concerns that a majority were screened for, including hypertension, which 1.78 crore citizens were tested for; diabetes, which was screened in 1.72 crore women; breast cancer screening was conducted in 37 lakh women; cervical cancer testing was done in 19 lakh and oral cancer screening covered 69 lakh women.

Additionally, more than 62.60 lakh antenatal check-ups were conducted, while more than 1.43 crore children received life-saving vaccines, the data showed.
There were more than 1.51 crore screened for anemia; over 85 lakh for tuberculosis; and 10.23 lakh for sickle cell disease, the ministry said.
Urging women to continue to prioritise their well-being, Nadda encouraged them to undertake regular health check-ups and lead the way towards a healthier, empowered future.
Nutrition counselling sessions were also provided as part of the campaign, which helped reach more than 1.16 crore people, while 10.69 lakh ‘Ni-kshay Mitras’ have been registered, the health ministry noted.
Over 4.30 lakh blood donors were also registered, and more than 10.69 lakhs Ayushman/PM-JAY cards issued, it further stated.
