The government is set to introduce eight new draft legislations during the upcoming Monsoon session of Parliament, which begins on Monday. Among the proposed bills is one aimed at the preservation and protection of India’s geoheritage sites and geo-relics. The National Sports Governance Bill, the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Amendment Bill, and the National Anti-Doping (Amendment) Bill are all part of the larger legislative agenda, which also includes the Geoheritage Sites and Geo-relics (Preservation and Maintenance) Bill.
There will be 21 sittings in both Houses during the Monsoon session, which is set to run from July 21 to August 21. Raksha Bandhan and Independence Day celebrations will take place during the August 12–18 break. The session is expected to see heightened confrontations between the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the opposition, including the Congress-led INDIA bloc.
Ahead of the state's next Assembly elections, the Election Commission's ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of Bihar's electoral rolls is probably going to be one of the main points of contention. It is anticipated that the opposition will raise concerns about the exercise's timing and goal. The controversy surrounding Operation Sindoor and former US President Donald Trump's assertion that he mediated a ceasefire between India and Pakistan to prevent a nuclear exchange between the two countries may also raise concerns for the government.

In addition to these, the government is also expected to table the Income Tax Bill, 2025. Originally introduced in the Lok Sabha in February, the bill was referred to a Select Committee, which adopted its report on Wednesday. The bill is likely to be presented in the Lok Sabha on Monday.
