Central Industrial Security Force — CISF — conducted a Radiological Emergency Mock Exercise (REME) at the Departure Gate of Mumbai Airport.
The aim of the mock drill was to strengthen joint response capability and seamless interoperability during radiological contingencies.
Alongside CISF, NDRF,MIAL, BARC, BMC Fire, ARFF Fire, Medical Team, Immigration, BCAS, and Airline Staff teams also participated in the mock drill.
“Such mock drills are essential for enhancing situational readiness, rapid decision-making, and effective management of radiological emergencies in high-footfall aviation environments,” wrote CISF in a post on X.
Mock drills are practice sessions for emergencies like fires or attacks. They help forces, groups, or people to get ready for real emergencies by checking if their plan works, making sure everyone knows what to do together, and helping them act faster when a real problem happens.
