Shahi Snan dates announced for Maha Kumbh 2025.

The Maha Kumbh Mela 2025 in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, is shaping up to be a grand spiritual and cultural spectacle.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, during his recent visit to Prayagraj, emphasised the historical and religious importance of the event, which is set to take place from January 13 to February 26, 2025.

He highlighted that preparations are progressing swiftly, ensuring the event will surpass previous editions in scale and organisation.

CM Yogi noted that the Maha Kumbh, coming after a significant 144-year interval, has drawn immense anticipation from across the country and the globe. The event is expected to attract millions of devotees and tourists, eager to witness the largest religious congregation in the world.

The Chief Minister expressed confidence in the state’s meticulous arrangements, stating that 28 out of the 30 pontoon bridges planned for the event have been completed, with the remaining two expected to be ready shortly.

Additionally, a 12-kilometre-long temporary ghat is being prepared to accommodate the large influx of devotees.

The preparations include the establishment of over 1.5 lakh tents by the Mela Authority to provide accommodation for the numerous organisations and pilgrims attending the event.

The Uttar Pradesh Culture Department is also actively involved, planning a vibrant showcase of India’s cultural diversity. Around 20 small stages will be set up at key locations across Prayagraj, where folk dance performances from various states will highlight the nation’s rich heritage.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath offered prayers at Prayagraj’s Lete Hanuman Mandir during his visit and conducted a ground inspection of major sites, including the Sangam Erawat Ghat, Sangam Noj Ghat, and a newly constructed steel bridge parallel to the Ganga Setu.

He also inaugurated a Bio-CNG plant in the city’s Naini area, reflecting the administration’s commitment to sustainability as part of the event’s preparations.

Security arrangements have been a top priority, with the Uttar Pradesh Police deploying advanced measures such as underwater drones to ensure the safety of attendees.

A review meeting was held at the Integrated Command and Control Centre Auditorium to assess the progress and address any logistical concerns.

The Chief Minister extended invitations to prominent dignitaries, including President Droupadi Murmu and Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, to attend the event.

The main bathing festivals, or “Shahi Snans,” are scheduled for January 14, January 29, and February 3, coinciding with significant dates on the Hindu calendar such as Makar Sankranti, Mauni Amavasya, and Basant Panchami.
