Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has taken a significant step to ensure free and fair elections in India by forming a new committee named the Empowered Action Group of Leaders (EAGLE).
The announcement came on Sunday, with Kharge’s decision aimed at closely monitoring the conduct of elections by the Election Commission of India.
The committee has been formed with a strong focus on transparency and fairness, with key Congress leaders appointed to oversee its operations.
The group consists of seasoned leaders such as Ajay Maken, Digvijay Singh, Abhishek Singhvi, Praveen Chakravarty, Pawan Khera, Gurdeep Singh Sappal, Nitin Raut, and Challa Vamshi Chand Reddy.
One of the primary tasks of EAGLE will be to investigate the alleged manipulation in Maharashtra's voter list. This has been a point of concern for many political observers, and the committee is expected to submit a thorough report on the matter to the Congress leadership as soon as possible.
In addition to focusing on Maharashtra, the committee will also take a broader approach. EAGLE will conduct reviews of past elections held in various states to identify any irregularities or issues that may have compromised their integrity.
