Congress has been asked to vacate its main office (which has been operational for nearly five decades) at 24, Akbar Road by this Saturday.
While the party officially inaugurated its new, modern headquarters—Indira Gandhi Bhawan at 9A Kotla Marg—in January 2025, it has continued to operate several cells and administrative units from the historic Lutyens’ bungalow.
Meanwhile, Senior Congress leaders and legal experts, including Abhishek Singhvi, termed these notices "politically motivated."
It is learnt that the grand old party is also exploring legal avenues to challenge the eviction or seek an extension, arguing that these addresses are deeply intertwined with their organisational history.
