Court Ruling Requires Release of SUV in Death Investigation.

In a recent development in the Old Rajender Nagar death case, the Rouse Avenue Court has instructed the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to release an SUV belonging to Manuj Kathuria, a key figure in the investigation.

The court, under the supervision of Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Nishant Garg, has directed the CBI's Investigation Officer (IO) to complete all necessary procedures to return the vehicle to Kathuria.

Kathuria's SUV had been in CBI custody as part of the ongoing probe into the tragic deaths of three UPSC aspirants who drowned in the basement of a coaching institute in Old Rajender Nagar on July 27.

The court's directive came after reviewing the status report filed by the CBI's IO. According to the report, a Motor Vehicle Inspector examined the SUV on August 30. The CBI had previously reported that both the SUV and the building’s gate were inspected by a team from IIT Delhi.

The court's decision requires Kathuria to submit a security bond, based on the vehicle’s valuation report, before the SUV is returned. This step ensures that the vehicle’s condition is accounted for and safeguarded during the legal proceedings.

Kathuria, who was driving the SUV at the time of the incident, had been granted bail by the trial court. The CBI's public prosecutor had requested additional time for a thorough inspection of the vehicle by a motor vehicle inspector. The vehicle had also been subject to inspection by IIT Delhi experts as part of the investigation.

Manuj Kathuria had previously filed a plea for the release of his SUV, which had been parked at the Rajender Nagar Police Station. The court’s order reflects the procedural progress in the case, where the focus remains on thoroughly investigating the circumstances surrounding the tragic incident.
