Former Delhi minister Saurabh Bharadwaj has launched a YouTube channel, "Berozgar Neta" (Unemployed Leader), after losing his Greater Kailash seat in the 2025 Delhi Assembly election.
Bharadwaj, a three-time MLA from the constituency, was defeated by the BJP's Shikha Roy by 3,188 votes in a poll that saw the Aam Aadmi Party suffer a major setback.
Bharadwaj's new channel, which has over 47,000 subscribers, will serve as a platform for daily discussions on various topics. In his first 58-second video, he acknowledged how the election loss had drastically changed his life, stating, "Today, it can be said that leaders like us have become unemployed." He also invited viewers to engage with him and share their suggestions for future content.
His loss was part of a broader defeat for AAP, which saw its tally reduced to 22 seats from 62 in 2020.
Prominent leaders, including AAP chief and former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, ex-Deputy CM Manish Sisodia, and ministers Gopal Rai and Somnath Bharti, also failed to secure their seats.
The BJP, securing 48 of the 70 seats, is set to form the Delhi government for the first time in nearly three decades.
Despite the party's losses, former minister Atishi managed to retain her Kalkaji seat, albeit with a slim margin of 600 votes.
Meanwhile, Bharadwaj, who had handled key portfolios such as home, health, power, and environment under CMs Kejriwal and Atishi, is charting a new course through digital media.
Announcing his transition on X, Bharadwaj wrote, "From tomorrow, I am coming among you on a new platform. Now you can also join me on YouTube, where we will discuss a new topic every day. Also, you can share your suggestions."
Bharadwaj, who was a software engineer before entering politics, previously worked with Johnson Controls India, specialising in microchips and coding.
His shift to YouTube marks a significant change from his political career, but he appears determined to stay engaged with the public.
His channel, started in July 2010, has now gained momentum following his election loss. "See you tomorrow on a new journey with our first video!" Bharadwaj added in his social media post, signalling his next move in the digital space.
