The Ministry of Defence has taken a significant step towards enhancing the combat readiness of the Indian Navy by signing a contract with Cochin Shipyard Limited for the Short Refit and Dry Docking of INS Vikramaditya.
The agreement, valued at Rs 1,207.5 crore, aims to revitalise the aircraft carrier, ensuring its upgraded operational capabilities.
INS Vikramaditya, commissioned into the Indian Navy in November 2013, serves as a cornerstone of India's maritime defence.
Following the completion of the refit, the carrier will rejoin the active fleet with enhanced combat features, further strengthening India's naval capabilities. This refurbishment is pivotal to maintaining the ship's peak performance and ensuring its readiness for future missions.
