Delhi Police are investigating a possible tantric angle in the case of three people found dead inside a car in Peeragarhi on Sunday. The deceased have been identified as Randhir (76), Naresh Singh (47), and Laxmi Devi (40).
According to police, the three victims met a tantric baba in Peeragarhi at around 10:30 am on Sunday. After the meeting, they left the area for northeast Delhi via the Ring Road, before returning to Peeragarhi around 3 pm. Their bodies were later discovered inside a parked car.
Police are questioning the tantric and one of his associates as part of the investigation. CCTV footage along the victims’ travel route is also being examined to trace their movements.
Investigators revealed that the three had known each other for several years and were in regular contact. Randhir and Naresh were involved in the property business, while Laxmi worked in elderly home care. Preliminary background checks have not revealed anything suspicious.
Several liquor bottles and used disposable glasses were found near the car. Vomit was found in the mouths of Naresh and Laxmi, as well as in the disposable glasses recovered from the scene. No signs of external injuries, struggle or robbery were found.
Sources earlier indicated that poisoning could be the cause of death, as there were no immediate signs of foul play. Postmortem examinations of Randhir and Naresh have been conducted, while Laxmi’s autopsy is pending. Viscera samples from the bodies have been preserved for chemical analysis to determine the exact cause of death.
