With the Delhi Assembly elections just days away, the political battle has intensified as parties make their final push for votes.

BJP slams Kejriwal as Delhi election battle heats up.

With the Delhi Assembly elections just days away, the political battle has intensified as parties make their final push for votes.

The Bharatiya Janata Party has launched sharp attacks on Arvind Kejriwal and his Aam Aadmi Party, accusing them of corruption, misgovernance and false promises.

BJP leader Rajeev Chandrasekhar criticised the AAP government, saying that the past decade under Kejriwal’s leadership has been a waste of time for the people of Delhi.

He claimed that the AAP government has done little for the city apart from setting "new records in corruption" while failing to deliver on its promises.

He expressed confidence that voters would choose change in the upcoming polls, stating, "There is absolute clarity in voters’ minds that the last ten years under Arvind Kejriwal were wasted. People gave him their trust and a mandate, but he has done nothing except engage in corruption and misgovernance. People know who can bring development and real change, and who simply makes empty promises. I am confident that people want change, and there will be change on 5 February."

As the campaign enters its final phase, major parties, including the BJP, Congress and AAP, are engaged in fierce exchanges over issues such as corruption, rising inflation, pollution in the Yamuna River and incomplete infrastructure projects.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also launched a strong attack on Kejriwal, calling the AAP government a "disaster" for Delhi.

Addressing a rally, he assured voters that if the BJP is elected to power, not a single slum would be demolished and no welfare scheme would be discontinued.

He urged people not to give Kejriwal’s government another chance, warning that it would only lead to another five wasted years for the capital.

Modi’s remarks were in response to Kejriwal’s earlier claims that the BJP would demolish slums if it won the elections. The Delhi Chief Minister had alleged that under a BJP-led government, thousands would be left homeless due to evictions.

The Prime Minister also reached out to the Purvanchali community in Delhi, reminding them that they had made him an MP and assuring them of continued support from the BJP in Delhi, as well as in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.

Meanwhile, Kejriwal has accused the BJP of harassing his party workers ahead of the elections. However, the Election Commission stated that no written complaint had been registered with the police regarding these allegations.

Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi also took a swipe at both the BJP and AAP. She criticised the Union Budget for failing to address inflation and accused Kejriwal of misleading people about his government’s honesty.

Referring to the now-scrapped Delhi excise policy, she said, "Kejriwal claimed to be honest while calling others corrupt, but now he is trapped in the liquor scam."

The Delhi Assembly elections will take place on 5 February, with the results set to be announced on 8 February.
