Delhi’s Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena met with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in Lucknow on Tuesday. The meeting was centred on legal matters involving both Delhi and Uttar Pradesh that are currently pending in the courts.
According to UP minister Swatantra Dev Singh, the Chief Secretaries of both states also participated in the discussions. They spoke about ongoing court cases and worked on identifying ways to resolve the related issues.
The meeting is seen as a step towards improved coordination between the two state administrations, especially in legal matters that affect both regions.
Meanwhile, on Monday, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated the All India Police Handball Cluster 2024–25 in Lucknow. The national-level tournament has brought together teams from across the country, with 75 teams set to compete over the next four days.

While addressing the event, CM Yogi thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah for choosing Uttar Pradesh as the host state for the tournament. He expressed happiness at the opportunity to showcase the state's readiness and commitment to national sporting events.
He also highlighted the important role sports play in maintaining good health and promoting discipline. According to the Chief Minister, sports have always been an essential part of Indian tradition and lifestyle. He said that a healthy India is closely linked to the promotion of sports and physical activities.
CM Yogi also acknowledged the efforts made by the central government in nurturing a sports culture across the country. He said Prime Minister Modi has played a crucial role in encouraging sports and supporting athletes at all levels.
During his speech, the Chief Minister shared that 500 athletes who have won medals in international competitions have been recruited into the Uttar Pradesh Police.
This, he noted, was achieved through a special recruitment programme aimed at strengthening the force with talented sportspersons and giving them opportunities to serve the nation in a new capacity.
The twin developments—the LG-CM meeting and the sports tournament—mark a significant day for Uttar Pradesh, reflecting both administrative cooperation and the state’s growing engagement with national sports.
