The Delhi Police visited the New Delhi residence of Cockroach Janta Party founder Abhijeet Dipke to convey that he should not organise a Tiranga March, also referred to as a ‘Tiranga Yatra’.
A video of the interaction shows Dipke seated on a bright yellow sofa with a small national flag draped over his shoulders. Addressing the police officer present at his home, he asks, “Kya aarop laga diya hai aapne mere upar?” meaning, “What kind of accusation have you levelled against me?”
Dipke questioned the contents of a police notice served to him, challenging the allegation that he had been instigating the general public through social media.
As he examined a set of papers placed on a glass-top table, Dipke read out part of the notice to a police officer seated opposite him. One of the claims stated that he had been encouraging the public on social media in an unlawful manner.
“What kind of a joke is this that you people are playing? Is this what you call a notice? You are writing whatever comes to your mind,” Dipke told the officer.
Wearing a white T-shirt featuring Mahatma Gandhi and blue denims, he also said, “Go ahead, hang me. What kind of a joke is this?”
Dipke further challenged the police to show even one video in which he had instigated violence.
