Ahead of the Delhi Assembly election results on Saturday, officials have set up tight security at 19 counting centres. The plan includes 10,000 police officers and two paramilitary companies at each centre.
Special Commissioner of Police, Devesh Chandra Srivastava, explained that only authorised people will be allowed inside the counting centres, and mobile phones will be banned. Two paramilitary companies will be stationed at each centre, while Delhi Police will manage security outside.
For added safety, metal detectors, handheld detectors, and X-ray machines will be used at the centres. The Delhi Police has already carried out anti-sabotage checks. Additionally, an extra Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) will oversee law and order at the counting centres.
Police teams are working with returning officers and political party members to keep things peaceful. PCR vans will be on standby, and traffic police will ensure smooth traffic flow.
