Traffic movement across several parts of Delhi may be affected on Saturday, October 10, ahead of the proposed Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) protests at Jantar Mantar and other locations. The Delhi Traffic Police said restrictions will remain dynamic and could be introduced from as early as 6 am, depending on the situation.
Additional Commissioner of Police (Traffic) DK Gupta said 30 routes leading towards New Delhi could be impacted. He urged commuters to monitor the Delhi Traffic Police website and social media channels for continuously updated information on diversions.
Gupta said traffic police personnel had also been deployed at Delhi’s borders. Diversion arrangements will be finalised if protests take place, based on the movement and size of the gatherings.

Advice for commuters
People travelling towards railway stations, inter-state bus terminals or the airport through New Delhi and Central Delhi have been advised to plan their journeys in advance and allow additional travel time.
The traffic police has also requested commuters to avoid non-essential travel in the affected areas.
Reason for the restrictions
The CJP has announced a youth-led protest at Jantar Mantar on October 10 over alleged “vote theft”. The demonstration is seeking the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar in connection with the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) drive.
CJP leader Abhijeet Dipke has said that he will continue with the march to Jantar Mantar.
Metro entry and exit restrictions
The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has announced that entry and exit at 45 metro stations will remain closed from 9 pm on Friday, October 9, until 6 pm on Saturday, October 10. The measure is intended to prevent large groups from reaching the protest area.
Metro stations that are not included in the DMRC list will not be covered by the entry and exit restrictions.
