Vijender Gupta slams AAP for its half government claim.

Vijender Gupta, the Leader of the Opposition in the Delhi Assembly, responded sharply to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's claim that the elected Delhi government is a "half government" under the AAP.

Gupta described the statement as baseless and misleading, arguing that such a narrative is a deliberate attempt to deflect responsibility.

In a video message, Gupta pointed out that every voter in Delhi casts a full vote, which means that the city’s government cannot be regarded as "half."

He emphasized that Delhi's voters are looking for a “full government,” which, according to him, could only be delivered under the leadership of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Gupta made it clear that the people do not want to be governed by a “half government” but a “full government” that is accountable and responsive to their needs.

Gupta then suggested that if Kejriwal and his party find it difficult to manage the city, they should step aside.

He added that the BJP, under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, is prepared to honour every vote and provide a fully functional government to the people of Delhi. According to Gupta, the BJP's governance will focus on transforming Delhi into the “best capital in the world.”

Addressing the AAP's political situation, Gupta suggested that the party was heading for defeat in the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections. He claimed that Kejriwal, realising the party's declining popularity, had started making baseless allegations against political rivals in the New Delhi constituency.

Gupta referenced surveys that showed Kejriwal’s vote share was shrinking, implying that the AAP’s grip on power was loosening. He further argued that Kejriwal’s panic was a clear indication that the party's prospects were deteriorating.

Gupta also claimed that the AAP’s attempts to influence the elections with false votes had been thwarted, exposing the party's politics of dishonesty. He stated that voters had seen through the party's tactics and would no longer tolerate such behaviour.

His message to Kejriwal was clear: after a decade of political accusations and misleading claims, it was time for the AAP convenor to accept that his credibility had been compromised.

The Leader of the Opposition also predicted a tough contest for former Education Minister and AAP leader Manish Sisodia in the upcoming elections.

Gupta highlighted that Sisodia’s decision to switch from contesting in Patparganj to Jangpura would not shield him from the growing anger among Delhi’s voters. He asserted that, regardless of the seat, voters were likely to punish Sisodia for the AAP government’s failures.
