MLA’s Kin Booked in Dholpur Encroachment Clash.

The Collector of Dholpur district in Rajasthan was allegedly manhandled by supporters of a Congress MLA during an anti-encroachment drive, leading to the arrest of seven individuals.

On Saturday, police stated that those detained for questioning included Pradeep Bohra, the uncle of Congress MLA Rohit Bohra, who represents the Rajakhera constituency in the Rajasthan Assembly.

Thirteen individuals have been booked in connection with the case, they added.

Dholpur Collector Shreenidhi B.T. informed reporters that the administration had gone to remove an encroachment on Friday which was causing waterlogging issues, when some people misbehaved.

"A case has been registered at Nihalganj Police Station, and a few individuals have been detained," the officer said.

The incident came to light after a video surfaced on Saturday, showing a confrontation at Dakkhana Square. The footage purportedly depicted administrative officials engaged in a heated exchange with the MLA’s supporters, which escalated to the Collector being physically manhandled.

In the video, the Collector's bodyguard can be seen pulling him away from the crowd and preparing to fire into the air in an attempt to disperse the agitators.

A joint encroachment removal campaign is being carried out by the municipal council, district administration and police to address the problem of waterlogging in Dholpur city.

According to the police, when a team of officials reached the vicinity of the MLA's residence on Friday evening to remove encroachments, his supporters, along with those of his uncle Pradeep Bohra, created a disturbance and blocked a bulldozer by standing in front of it.

When the Collector attempted to reason with the crowd, he was manhandled, the police said. Upon receiving information about the confrontation, Dholpur Superintendent of Police Sumit Meharda arrived at the scene with additional police personnel and resumed the encroachment operation.

The police stated that Pradeep Bohra and his supporters were questioned on Saturday morning. Bohra subsequently left the police station following the interrogation.
