Virat Kohli’s official spokesperson has rejected claims that the cricketer was paid Rs 5 crore to visit Premanand Maharaj’s ashram, describing the allegation as false, baseless and factually incorrect.
The spokesperson said Kohli visits Premanand Maharaj because of his deep faith and reverence for him. The statement also urged media organisations to verify facts carefully before reporting or amplifying such claims and called for responsible reporting.

The allegation was made by Dinesh Sharma, popularly known as ‘Falahari Maharaj’ and president of the Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi Sangharsh Nyas.
In a letter addressed to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Sharma alleged that a private company based in Rajasthan had spent Rs 5 crore to facilitate Kohli’s visit to Premanand Maharaj’s ashram.
Kohli’s spokesperson strongly denied the claim and maintained that the cricketer’s visits are motivated solely by his faith and respect for Premanand Maharaj.
