Delhi Police is also investigating the Jaish-e-Mohammed link angle in the Red Fort blast that killed 13 people in India on Monday. It is learnt that Dr Shaheen Saeed was in touch with Afirah Bibi, who is the wife of Umar Farooq, Jaish commander and 2019 Pulwama attack mastermind. Umar, the nephew of Jaish chief Masood Azhar, was killed in an encounter.
Recently, Jaish has launched its new ‘women brigade’ — Jamaat-ul-Mominat — and Umar’s wife, Afirah, was learnt to be the head of this. As per the reports, Afirah joined this brigade's advisory council a few weeks ago, and works with Sadia Azhar — the youngest sister of Masood.
