The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) organised a conclave in Lucknow to strengthen the role of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and start-ups in defence research and production, with a focus on further developing the Uttar Pradesh Defence Industrial Corridor.
The event, held by DRDO’s Defence Technology and Test Centre (DTTC) at its Amausi Campus on 06 September 2025, brought together more than 100 participants from MSMEs, start-ups and Laghu Udhyog Bharti.
Discussions at the conclave revolved around skill development, funding support for research and development, technical consultancy, and technology development and transfer by DRDO.
In his inaugural address, the DRDO Chairman highlighted that DTTC was the brainchild of Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh and had now started yielding results for the benefit of industry.

He informed participants about DRDO’s industry-centric policies and the range of technologies available for MSMEs.
He said it was an opportune moment for MSMEs to engage in defence R&D and assured that DRDO would extend all possible support to help them contribute towards making India Aatmanirbhar Bharat and achieving the vision of Viksit Bharat by 2047.

Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh complimented DRDO and the MSMEs for organising the conclave. He lauded the crucial role being played by MSMEs in advancing Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision of an Aatmanirbhar Bharat.
The conclave was attended by senior DRDO officials including DG (Naval Systems & Materials) Dr RV Hara Prasad, DG (Technology Management) Dr LC Mangal, and DG (Human Resources) Dr Mayank Dwivedi.
