The Terminal Ballistics Research Laboratory (TBRL) of the DRDO successfully conducted a powerful, high-caliber bomb trial on Sunday at the Ramgarh Range in Panchkula, Haryana. The test was conducted amidst comprehensive security arrangements and under the supervision of senior officials from the Air Force.
According to officials, the trial was successful and was executed in strict adherence to established safety protocols.The controlled explosive trial, which took place between 10:30 AM and 12:30 PM, was closely supervised by senior Indian Air Force officers and DRDO scientists to validate advanced munitions and defense capabilities.Given the massive scale of the detonation, authorities took extensive precautionary measures to ensure public safety.
A 2-kilometer danger zone was established around the blast site. Officials had warned that bomb splinters could travel horizontally up to 2 kilometers and reach altitudes of 1.5 kilometers. Residents in nearby villages like Bhanu, Billa, Asrewali, Naggal, and Moginand were strictly instructed to remain indoors and keep livestock secured during the test window.
In view of the scheduled test, TBRL, the District Administration, and the Police Administration had already issued a high alert. As part of the security protocol, special surveillance was maintained in the surrounding areas.It was anticipated that bomb fragments could fly up to a distance of 1.5 kilometres during the trial. A radius of 2 kilometres was declared a sensitive zone from a security perspective. The villages of Bhanu and Billa were issued specific instructions to exercise extreme caution.
According to information shared by DRDO scientists a day before , it was stated that the explosion during the trial could be powerful enough to propel bomb fragments up to 1.5 kilometres into the air. Entry into restricted areas during the testing period was closely monitored to ensure public safety.
The entire testing process was conducted under strict safety protocols and monitored by senior officials of the Indian Air Force. Authorities said extensive precautions are being taken to ensure that the trial is carried out safely without affecting nearby communities.
