On September 1, a passenger on an IndiGo flight from Delhi to Kolkata was taken into custody for allegedly misbehaving with the cabin crew and disturbing other travellers. The airline confirmed the incident in a statement released on Wednesday.
The passenger, who was reportedly under the influence of alcohol, was officially declared "unruly" in accordance with standard aviation procedures. Upon the flight's arrival in Kolkata, the individual was handed over to security officials. A formal complaint was also filed with the appropriate authorities.
The incident was described by an IndiGo representative, who said, "We are aware of an incident of unruly behaviour onboard IndiGo flight 6E 6571 operating from Delhi to Kolkata on 01 September 2025. It was discovered that one of the passengers was acting inappropriately toward the cabin crew and upsetting other travellers while intoxicated.

The spokesperson added that the passenger was turned over to security upon arrival after being deemed unruly "in line with established protocols".
The airline emphasised its policy of maintaining a "zero-tolerance policy towards any form of disruptive or abusive conduct" and reiterated its commitment to "ensuring a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all customers and crew."
