Teams of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) have started early morning raids in 17 locations linked to the Congress MLA from Badkagaon constituency of Jharkhand, Amba Prasad, on Tuesday.
According to sources, the ED team is conducting simultaneous raids on Congress MLA Amba Prasad and Circle Officer Shahsi Bhushan Singh, who previously worked as a revenue inspector (Circle Inspector).
The raids are taking place across Ranchi, including at the MLA's residence in Dhurwa. Besides from Ranchi, the operations are taking place at locations linked to Amba Prasad in Hazaribagh and Ramgarh districts.
The raids are reportedly conducted in conjunction with money laundering through fraudulent land and coal dealings.
According to reports, the Ranchi Zonal Office's ED inspectors had spent the last three hours going through documents and electronic devices.
Notably, Amba Prasad, a member from Badkagaon, is the daughter of Yogendra Sao, a former State Government minister who had been imprisoned until recently due to a number of allegations, including his associations with extremist groups.
Nirmala Devi, Amba's mother, was also a MLA for the Badkagaon constituency. She was imprisoned during the Raghubar Das government for her role in a shoot-out case that claimed multiple lives.
